Family Fun for Harvest

Family and friends came together to celebrate harvest festival. There were various activities to suit all ages. There was glitter fruit and veg for the young  (at heart!) We had bread making and biscuit decorating. Especially enjoyed as the end results were edible! Arts and crafts included making treasure chests and decorating a chest to put in the treasure trove. The treasure trove was the setting for a story and songs in which everyone had an exhilarating time!

Back downstairs we gathered together again to partake in a tea of sandwiches and cakes.

Thank you to everyone who helped organise. Tom would like to know when the next event is please?!

Coffee Evening

The annual coffee evening held by Jennifer and Michael Langham on 23rd August was a happy, sociable occasion as usual.

An impressive total of £160 for church funds was raised on the night and thanks are extended to all who contributed and attended.  Special mention must be made of the magnificent ginger flapjacks!

Outing to Brecon Mountain Railway

Conway 50+ Wednesday Group enjoyed a day out to the Brecon Mountain Railway (26th July 2017).  Even though the weather was wet and misty it didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of Group members with a happy bus trip through the Taff Valley to Merthyr, a ride on a steam train past Pontsticill Reservoir followed by a Buffet Lunch at Pant Station with plenty of time to chat!

Going on a Lion Hunt – Family Activity Afternoon

Conway Road Methodist Church family went on a lion hunt on Sunday 7th May.

There were trees and lion masks and jungle pictures to be made, lion biscuits to ice and faces to paint.

A very busy afternoon was had by all – followed by songs and an excellent retelling of the story of Daniel, and his amazing faith in God, by Rev. Paul Martin

The afternoon finished with a picnic tea in the Church hall – all packed in your own jungle box.

Great fun – see you at our next event for harvest – Sunday 8th October!
